A Short Biography of Dn Alan Chichester

The Rev. Deacon Alan Chichester was ordained to the diaconate on June 14, 2026, by the Rt. Rev. David Hustwick, Bishop of the Diocese of the Great Lakes (UECNA), at All Saints Anglican Church in Traverse City, Michigan, where he now serves.

Dn. Alan came to the Anglican tradition through the beauty and reverence of the Prayer Book and worshiped for six years at St. Paul’s Anglican Catholic Church in Grand Rapids before “coming home” to the Traverse City area in 2023, where he joined All Saints Anglican Church. In 2025, he helped organize a weekly virtual Bible study at All Saints, which continues to provide mid-week fellowship and edification to the parish community. Encouraged by the All Saints clergy – Frs. Kurt Henle and Winston Rowlett – and moved by Christ’s words that “the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few” (Luke 10:2), Dn. Alan discerned a call to ordained ministry.

Dn. Alan holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, a master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Liberty University. For more than twenty years he has worked in the natural gas industry, and now balances his secular and ecclesial vocations as a “tent-maker” in the spirit of St. Paul.

Dn. Alan and his wife Melissa make their home in Traverse City, where they enjoy the blessings of Grand Traverse Bay, proximity to family, spending time with their dogs, golfing, and the fellowship of All Saints Anglican Church.
